The NU system is a $3 Billion entity, with $1 Billion of that amount being direct state-aided funds. This represents one of the largest entities in state government!

Given the size, importance, and expense of this state entity, you would think that overseeing it as a regent would be a full-time job. However, given that it is an unpaid position, most of the regents have other full-time jobs and serve as part-time regents.

Not Jim!

Jim believes that the job of regent is important enough that he has committed to doing it full time, even though it is without pay. For this reason, Jim retired from his position as Chair of the Department of Mathematics at UNO in order to both run and serve full time.

Jim is currently self-funding his campaign and is completely independent of the big money that currently influences politics. But trying to win a seat against an established incumbent isn’t easy, and it isn’t cheap!

So, if you believe that the NU administration should have the more rigorous oversight that Jim can provide and would like to help him out in his effort to represent the 4th District, please consider hitting that Donate link and joining the effort to make the University of Nebraska stronger, better, and more relevant in the 21st century!
